● Visa, together with Sacombank, Vietcombank and VPBank introduces smartphone-based contactless payments to support digital inclusion and SME growth across Vietnam.
Visa (NYSE: V), the world’s leader in digital payments, has partnered with Sacombank, Vietcombank and VPBank to launch Visa Accept in Vietnam. The solution allows micro and small businesses to accept contactless Visa payments directly on NFC-enabled smartphones, without requiring any additional hardware. Merchants can onboard quickly through their bank’s mobile app and begin accepting payments with near real-time settlement, making digital payments simple to adopt and easy to integrate into daily business operations.
Visa Accept supports Vietnam’s push toward a cashless economy by helping small enterprises overcome barriers to digital payment acceptance. It reduces reliance on cash, lowers entry costs, and opens new opportunities for growth and formalization, especially for sellers in rural and informal sectors.
Sacombank, Vietcombank and VPBank are integrating Visa Accept into their mobile banking app, allowing sellers to enroll quickly through their mobile apps and begin accepting payments via tap-to-phone or pay-by-link with minimal friction.
For consumers, Visa Accept means greater convenience and safety when shopping at local markets, food stalls, and neighborhood stores. For consumers, it offers a frictionless way to pay without cash, helping boost digital payments and support small local vendors.
“With Visa Accept, we are bringing a simple, secure way for small businesses to accept contactless payments on everyday smartphones. By combining a trusted brand with streamlined onboarding and near real-time settlement, we enable SMEs and micro merchants to participate fully in the digital economy and foster prosperity. This solution advances digital and financial inclusion, and uplifts the Vietnamese economy,” said Ms. Dung Dang, Country Manager for Visa Vietnam and Laos.
“Partnering with Visa to introduce Visa Accept reflects Sacombank’s commitment to digital innovation and customer empowerment. We aim to make secure, convenient, and accessible payment solutions available to every business,” said Mr. Pham Duc Duy, Deputy Director of Retail Banking Division, Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank).
“We are thrilled to soon bring Visa Accept to our merchant partners, reinforcing our goal to make digital commerce accessible to all. This integration will empower our SMEs with frictionless payment acceptance, ensuring they have the modern tools necessary to succeed and expand their businesses,” said Ms. Doan Hong Nhung, Head of Retail Banking Division, Member of Board of Management, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank).
“We are proud to bring Visa Accept to our merchant network, helping small businesses access digital payments and expand growth. This launch supports VPBank’s focus on accelerating SME digitization through streamlined onboarding and easy acceptance,” said Mr. Phung Duy Khuong, Standing Deputy CEO and Head of Retail Banking Division, Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank).
Visa Accept was first unveiled in Vietnam as part of Visa’s 30th anniversary celebrations, highlighting its commitment to digital inclusion and SME empowerment. The solution was later showcased live at the Visa booth during the Singapore FinTech Festival in November 2025, where representatives from Sacombank, Vietcombank and VPBank joined Visa executives to demonstrate its ease of use for small businesses to media, partners, and global attendees.
